Cambridge Regional College was invited by Sadykova Roza Sharipovna, the Chairman of the Association of Private Schools of Kazakhstan (55 in total) to deliver a pre-CELTA course (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) to 50 Kazakh teachers. The purpose of the programme was to give teachers an idea of CELTA principles and see how they can apply them immediately to their lessons. The 3 day programme consisted of the following sessions; The British Education System, Foreign language lesson, Principles of Classroom Management, Introduction to Methodology – Overview Practical: Teaching Reading Skills and Speaking. The participants were also invited to teach a class for 15-20 minutes and receive feedback on their teaching.
