Colchester Zoo is one of Europe’s finest and has proved an excellent and highly popular place to visit with English language students over the years. Last December, a group of 15 teenage ‘Stepping Up’ students, who study English language at Colchester Institute visited and marvelled and delighted at the wide range of animals from big cats and chimpanzees, to penguins and sea lions, fish and butterflies, reptiles and birds. . . . With over 270 species to see, set in 60 acres of beautiful parkland and lakes, our day was jam-packed with interesting, interactive displays, close up ‘experiences’ with the animals and a ride on the ‘Lost Madagascar Express’ road train. Always a favourite with children and adults alike, feeding time with the elephants and giraffes was a highlight!
