As we wave goodbye to summer and start to dig out our woolly jumpers, scarves and gloves the Enrichment Programme Team at Bell Cambridge have time to reflect on another jam-packed summer. We have made the most of the summer days with plenty of trips punting, tours of the colleges in Cambridge, cream teas and picnics by the river. But the cooler days won’t put us off that easily and we are still enjoying the outdoors. One recent trip was an afternoon at Burwash Manor, a family run farm where they have converted their barns into shops, tearooms and even a day spa. We had a wonderful time, enjoyed some lovely cakes in the tearoom and explored the boutique shops, as well as taking a look around the farm as well. Our students were particularly wowed by seeing an Alpaca for the first time!
It was lovely to see students communicating with the staff at the farm and even with some of the other visitors. We would highly recommend an afternoon here. You will certainly come away feeling relaxed and refreshed, and probably with a few delicious cakes and snacks to take home from the farm shop.
