It’s a city that’s renowned for its magnificent cathedral and its quintessential tearooms - but now Ely has been labelled the kindest city in the whole of the UK. According to a survey carried out by Coca-Cola, Ely residents are the kindest in the country.
The study, which involved 2,500 people, researched the nation’s Christmas ‘good deed habits’ and found that the people in Ely ranked highly across all kindness factors - from volunteering to work for a charity over the festive period, to wishing a stranger Merry Christmas – and topped the list of those who would invite an elderly relative or neighbour into their homes for Christmas if they were going to be alone.
