The Start of Summer
Open Studios in Norwich and Norfolk!
With the sun shining, there couldn’t be a better time to start exploring the streets of Norwich and the surrounding areas. Open Studios is a great way for new students to discover Norfolk, offering them a unique insight into the county’s rich culture as well as a great opportunity to meet the locals too! This year, this annual event runs from May 28th – June 12th and sees artists and designers opening their homes as temporary galleries for the duration. See original work, learn about the artist’s practice and meet new people as you peruse the displays. Some studios even offer the chance to get involved in the making process – providing taster workshops for visitors. My favourite way to explore the studios is through the art trails, which have been developed by the Open Studios organisers. Choose from the 22 routes across Norwich and Norfolk for a great day out exploring the creative landscape of our lovely county. We will certainly be encouraging our own students at NILE to take part this weekend!
